CEO Monthly Update banner

Hi all,

New Business

October was a big month for our E&I division, being awarded, pending contractual close, the electrical services contract for the Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre (AWRC) project at Kemp’s Creek with long standing client John Holland Group.

The AWRC is a new wastewater recycling plant supporting Sydney’s growing western aerotropolis and surrounding communities. This major project has been a key target for the E&I division for several years and will extend our significant track record as a leading contractor in the water utilities sector.

A congratulations to all our people who have been involved in converting this opportunity. This project win by the Sydney E&I team, builds on recent momentum by the E&I Northern team in the water utilities sector with projects such as the Taree Pump Station and Willawarrin Pump Station.

2024 Annual Employee Engagement Survey

Our 2024 Annual Employee Engagement Survey is currently live and in its final week. You should have all received a link to your personal email address to complete the anonymous annual employee engagement survey for 2024. With 3 out 4 employees having their say in our first ever survey last year, I was very pleased with the participation and more importantly the candid feedback you shared. We have been using your feedback over the last 12 months to inform our priorities to make Star Group the employer of choice in our industry.

We encourage everyone to complete the survey and share your thoughts! Given the size and geographical spread of our workforce, engagement surveys are a valuable tool for gathering your honest, anonymous, and confidential feedback about Star Group. This year, we will compare the results to last year's survey and closely examine the comments and feedback again to understand what matters most to our employees and how you think we performed over the past 12 months. Your feedback will also help us identify areas of focus to make Star Group a more engaging and satisfying place to work.

If you haven’t already, please check out the launch video below and make sure you get your responses in by Friday 15 November. Also, if you haven’t received the link to the survey, please contact Alex Pereira at alex.pereira@star-group.com.au. Thank you again for your participation

Supporting our communities

As part of our commitment to being a Responsible Corporate Citizen, Star has been a strong supporter of Multiplex's John Hunter Innovation Precinct Connectivity Centre (JHHIP CC) and I am proud to say we have welcomed six candidates who completed their training into our team.

Multiplex Connectivity Centres are dynamic spaces—both physical and virtual—that bring together job seekers, employers, government agencies, training organisations, and community groups. Together, they craft tailored training, employment, and support solutions that meet the needs of our community.

A special mention and congratulations to Bryce Coleman and Mark Andrews for championing this initiative with Multiplex. It's been great to see positive feedback from Jo Osborne, Project Manager, Connectivity Centre, and Riley, one of the candidates we have taken onboard, on Star Group's commitment to the JHHIP CC initiative and our ongoing support.
