The UNSW Bio Science Early Works Development project comprised of works required to make the site and its surrounds ready for the demolition, construction and refurbishment involved in the main project. This renewal and expansion project serves to address the accommodation and functional needs of the wider precinct as well as supports UNSW’s stated goal to be a leading, research intensive university.

STAR Group provided the electrical, communications, high voltage and security services of the project, this involved services to the Ausgrid Chamber Substation, Substations 29 and 30, Decommission of Substation 6 and all associated above ground and in-ground services.

Star Group’s services provided on the project included:

  • High Voltage (HV) power supply
  • Underground services
  • Road Realignment
  • Temporary Loading Dock
  • Demolition of existing structures
  • Refurbishment and relocation of existing functions
  • Establishment of temporary egress paths from existing fire exits;
  • Site services investigations; and
  • Landscaping.
